Traffic accidents.

Traffic accidents are the leading cause of death among infants and are responsible for 63 percent of deaths among children aged 14 and younger in the uae.  Although this is a major issue, the law here only says children ten years and older who are sitting in the passenger seat must wear there seat belts. But the ministry of interior prohibits children younger than ten years from sitting in the front seat. The child safety-car seat campaign is held annually to raise awareness of the importance of child car seats.   Officials believe this has a very large impact on the traffic injury and death rate in Dubai. However, child car seats restraints can reduce risks by 50-75 percent; all children should sit in the back of the car in an age-appropriate seat. Child safety seats aren't only designed for infants and toddlers booster seats are available for children over the age of four. Today there are car seats made to accommodate children through out their various stages of growth. Both weight and age are factors to consider when choosing the appropriate child-car seat. Simple unawareness is the reason parents don't have their children in car seats.
